Strong interaction

The strong interaction is the force that holds quarks together to form protons, neutrons, and other hadron particles.

 


Explanation

The interaction is carried by gluons. It is one of the 4 fundamental forces of nature.

 


History

The Swiss physicist Ernst Stueckelberg developed the vector boson exchange model as the theoretical explanation of the strong nuclear force in 1935.
